The art of beauty is so much more than just simply “putting your face on.” It takes a great deal of skill, attention to detail, and accuracy to really make those products work for your body the way they should. The tips below can help you improve your beauty skills.
Tip #1 – Keep eye drops on you at all times. Keep them in your purse, desk or both. This will help your eyes glisten through the day and make you not look so tired. Looking at a computer all day can also make your eyes red and keeping eye drops around will help that.
Tip #2 – Master the techniques for hiding blemishes and imperfections. There are a couple tried and true methods for hiding blemishes and flaws on your face. The first is to gently apply a concealer to the problem areas with a small cosmetics brush. The other method is to try to distract from the affected area – for example you can try to use a more vibrant lipstick or eye liner or you can even go as far as to dye your hair color to draw peoples’ eyes away from blemishes and other imperfections.
Believe it or not you can actually use makeup to change the appearance of the shape of your face too. If you find that your face appears like it’s too long you can help reduce this appearance by using some well-placed cream blush. Opt for a dark rose or brick shade, then use your fingertips to apply the color only on the apples of your cheeks; do not extend the color past this point, as it can actually make your face appear, even more narrow.
Tip #3 – Get your rest and relaxation. Arguably, one of the most overlooked factors of what can make you look older than you are is not being well rested. Not getting the right amount of sleep for just a single night can really worsen the appearance of bags under the eyes and even just give you a general “slowed down” appearance.
Tip #4 – Take care of basic hygiene. When you first wake up in the morning the best way to start your day off on the right foot is to take the time to brush your hair, wash your face, and brush your teeth. Do not neglect your own needs if you want to stay beautiful.
Tip #5 – Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate. If you want to stay beautiful, keep your skin healthy, and feel good, drink lots of water! 5-8 glasses of water a day is great, and even more is always good if you can manage it. Drinking plenty of water helps with bad or dry skin and many other ailments.
Tip #6 – Take advantage of your bodies own natural moisturizing abilities. Right before taking a bath or shower, use a dry brush that is soft all over your body to help stimulate oil glands and help moisturize the skin. Brush in a circle from the feet up and then shower with mild cleanser. You’ll find this will help your skin retain more moisture even if you happen to have hard water.
Tip #7 – Try some honey, Honey! Honey can benefit your skin in many different ways, even when you consume it. It can be used with sugar or sea salt to remove dead skin cells. Adding honey to a lotion can also boost moisture. You can make your hair softer and shinier by adding some honey to your regular shampoo.
Tip #8 – Take a multivitamin. If you have an overly pale appearance this can be due to iron deficiency. Take a daily iron supplement or eat a spoonful of iron-rich manuka honey. This will help you look healthier and give your skin a natural glow.
Tip #9 – Eggs can help remove excess oil from skin. Put some eggs on your face to be more beautiful. Eggs are very healthy when eaten. But, unknown to most, eggs are excellent for building outer beauty too! Break a few eggs open into a bowl and apply them gently to your face. After allowing it to dry for no more than 20 minutes, use a mild soap and water to rinse the mixture off. The egg will help get rid of your oily skin. Of course be sure to avoid getting the raw egg in your eyes or mouth. You can also take this a step further and create an all natural cosmetic mask by combining egg yolk, olive oil and honey and applying to your clean face for 15 minutes.
Tip #10 – Consider some outside help. Facial injections such as Botox® can really help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. There are many med-spa’s such as New York’s James Christian Cosmetics that can assist with showing you what facial injection options can work best for your specific needs. These can often be a much cheaper alternative to plastic surgery in the fight against the appearance of aging and maintaining your beauty.
The art of beauty is one that can be enjoyed by everyone, but only those very serious into it will try to perfect their perfect beauty techniques every chance that they get. Now with more beauty knowledge to add to your “bag of tricks,” you can easily become great at it too.
