Here is some of the lingo vaping beginners should learn.
Adjustable Airflow – Airflow is necessary for the atomizer to produce vapor which users inhale into their lungs. By being able to adjust the airflow, users can adjust the amount of air moving through the atomizer, so the vapor becomes inhalable.
Atomizer – The atomizer is the most important part of an e-cigarette. It consists of a small tube with a coil in it. When the user presses the button to take a hit of the e-cig, the coil, which usually has cotton around it, heats up and produces vapor from the e-juice.
Batteries – Everyone knows what a battery is, but vaping batteries are important when it comes to choosing a device. To get a battery that will last for a few vapings, you need to understand the power output.
The power of an e-cig battery is expressed as milliamp hours or mAh. The higher the mAh, the longer the battery will last. So, when you purchase e-cigs with batteries or replaceable batteries, look for the highest mAh you can find for your type of device.
Box Mods – A box mod is a larger type of vaporizer than the small cylindrical units that resemble tobacco cigarettes. Many of them come in the shape of a box and have more advanced features on them.
They can include an additional tank or batteries, the voltage and wattage may be adjustable, and you may be able to calibrate several variables. Box mods are for more advanced vapers who want bigger hits when their inhale the vapor.
Cartridge – An e-cig will use cartridges with e-liquid in them, or the tank will be refillable. Cartridges are available with different flavors of e-liquid, in different amounts of nicotine, and different sizes depending on the device you use for vaping.
Cartomizers – A cartomizer combines an atomizer with a cartridge of e-juice. Cartomizers are disposable, so when you run out of e-juice, you replace the entire unit. A cartomizer both holds and vaporizes e-liquids.
Direct to Lung Inhalation – Two different styles of vaping exist, there is mouth to lung or direct to lung inhalations. Direct to Lung is inhaling the vapor directly into your lungs. Mouth to lung is inhaling vapor into your mouth before allowing it to go to your lungs.
The mouth to lung technique is similar to smoking a tobacco cigarette. So, if you’ve made the switch from regular cigarettes to vaping, you’ll be familiar with this technique. The device you choose for vaping will use one of these two techniques.
Dripping – Instead of using an atomizer that gradually uses e-liquid while vaping, some advanced vapers drip e-liquid into their vaporizer. This technique allows for heavier vapor or a thicker “smoke.” However, it can result in inhaling too much nicotine while vaping.
E-Cigarette – Also known as an e-cig or electronic cigarette, it is a vaporizer that looks like a tobacco cigarette from which you vape.
E-liquid – It is also known as e-juice and is the liquid your device uses to produce vapor or “smoke.” It comes in several flavors and nicotine strengths as well.
There are many more vaping terms you should learn, but these are the 10 most basic ones. By becoming familiar with them, you can learn more about vaping.
