When Harmonie-Rose Ivy Allen was only 11 months old, she got diagnosed with meningitis B. The disease caused this little girl to have both her legs and arms amputated. To make things better, Harmonie got a new friend, a quadruple amputee doll that looks just like her. A Step Ahead Prosthetics modified the American Girl doll to make her look exactly like Harmonie. The company does this for many amputee kids. Parents send them the dolls and they modify them for free.
“Mummy, she’s just like me,” said Harmonie when she received the doll.
“As you can see, she is already loved very much in this house and I know she will be Harmonie’s best friend forever,” wrote Harmonie’s parents on their Facebook page.
