Kale, Spinach, and Pear Smoothie
Let the smoothie magic happen in the morning with a lot of greens in your glass.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup spinach leaves
- 1 cup kale leaves (chopped)
- 1/2 pear
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 and 1/2 cup almond milk (or soy milk or orange juice)
- 1 tbsp honey
Preparation:
In a blender, combine kale (before coarsely chopped), spinach, and almond milk. Blend until no big kale bits remain. Then, stop blending, and add pear, banana, and honey, and pear. Blend until smooth. This smoothie recipe is for two. Serve immediately.
Strawberry and Cucumber Smoothie
This a little bit odd smoothie combination is perfect to start your day. Cucumber thickens the smoothie, and adds lots of hydration and potassium, and it blends delightfully with the strawberries.
Ingredients:
- 1 and 1/2 cups strawberries (frozen)
- 1 cup almond milk
- ½ an English (hothouse) cucumber (seeded and chopped)
- 1 to 2 tbsp honey
- Fresh squeezed lemon (optional)
Preparation:
Add all ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth! Depending on your desired consistency, add more almond milk. Serve immediately for two.
Peanut Butter, Banana, and Oat Smoothie
This is a magic smoothie for your health: Bananas, nut milk, protein-packed peanut butter, healthful flax seeds and oats. There’s life to live!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups almond milk (or soy milk or regular milk)
- 1 frozen banana (cut into chunks)
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tbsp flax seeds (ground into meal)
- 2 tsp old-fashioned oats (ground fine)
Preparation:
In a spice grinder, grind flax seeds and oats into a powder. Then, in a blender, combine banana, almond milk, peanut butter, honey, and ground oats and flax. Blend until no banana chunks remain and until smooth mixture. Pour into a glass, and enjoy immediately. This recipe is for one big glass or two smalls.
