Girls love make up but what they don’t know is that their makeup routine can sometimes be harmful. Here are the 5 makeup habits that can be harmful for your skin and your health:
1. Sharing Makeup With Someone Else
Sharing makeup with your friend is so wrong and it can lead to infections.
“In sharing eyeliners and lipsticks, you can run the risk of contracting viral infections such as conjunctivitis and cold sores,” explains M.D David Banks, dermatologist.
2. Using Expired Makeup
Makeup has an expiration date for a reason. If you’re using makeup that has expired, you’re increasing your chances of getting skin irritation or pink eye. So next time you notice your mascara has expired, just throw it in the trash.
3. Sleeping With Makeup On
You’re too tired to take off your makeup? Not removing your makeup before going to bed can give you problems in the morning.
“Sleeping in your makeup can lead to clogged pores, but it can also cause eye irritation, as well. When you toss and turn your head throughout the night, traces of makeup can migrate into the eye and that can cause bumps on the skin around your eyes”, explains Dr. Banks.
4. Getting Lash Extensions
If a lash extension is applied poorly that can cause your natural lashes to break off. We strongly recommend you not to overuse lash extensions because that can damage your natural lashes and cause hair loss. Also be careful what glue you use when applying your extension because some glues can irritate your eyes.
5. Applying Eyeliner to Your Waterline
If you don’t want to end up with clogged oil glands or eye infection, then stop applying eyeliner on your waterline or your inner rims.
