Coffee or should we say, the caffeine monster has always had a notorious reputation because it is believed that apart from causing stained teeth and various voice disorders, it also has a hand in increasing the chances of getting cancer.
The interesting news is that according to the researchers of the University of Sydney, if one consumes coffee moderately, then the risk of getting type 2 diabetes can be prevented. Also, it was observed that with every cup of coffee, the chances of acquiring this disease are getting reduced. This also seems to work for people who are having decaffeinated coffee.

In 2004, Diabetes Care published a report which said that a certain dose of caffeine before eating made the post meal blood glucose rise up in people with type 2 diabetes and that in turn improved the resistance power of the insulin. This proved to be paradoxical in nature since on one hand it is safeguarding people against diabetes and on the other hand it is escalating the harmful effects of type 2 diabetes. Since coffee has plenty of constituents other than coffee, that may be the reason why it tends to protect people from diabetes.
