Superheroes are real and they don’t always wear capes. Well, they probably aren’t fully grown either. The 5-year old Noah Woods is the real-life superhero who fearlessly rescued his entire family from an electrical fire outbreak at their own home. Noah managed to get 7 people out of the house to safety and has been honored with the Lifesaving Award.
Noah’s family was asleep when the fire broke out in the home. Noah, who shares the room with his 2-year old sister Lily, saw the smoke and flames. He immediately grabbed Lilly and got her out through the window. He ran back to the house to save their dog and ran to call his uncle next door for help. Noah’s family was still trapped in the house, asleep. Noah managed to save 7 people! Lilly has minor burns to her feet, but everything else was OK.
Noah was given the Lifesaving Award and he was named honorary firefighter in an event held by the Fire Department.
“I’m honored, I’m privileged just to be part of this family and recognize Noah today. I’ve heard heroes come in all shapes in sizes. He showed me this week, age is a part of it too. Knowing a 5-year-old can go out and save his whole family is an eye-opener to me,” said Noah’s cousin.
“By the grace of God, all nine of our loved ones were able to get out of our home. If it wasn’t for Noah, we may not be here today,” said Noah’s grandfather.
