Eye pencils and eyeliners give your eyes definition and accentuate them. Unfortunately, if you apply the eyeliner wrong, you might end up looking like a mess. We’re going to help you learn how to apply your eye pencil/eyeliner the right way and make you look like a goddess.
Here are the 8 eye pencil mistakes you need to stop doing:
1. Your eye pencil is not sharp enough
The solution: Always keep an eye sharpener in your makeup kit. Sharpen your eyeliner before using it and create the perfect flick.
2. You apply eye pencil on the whole eye
The solution: Accentuate your upper lid or your lower waterline. Don’t apply the eye pencil all over your eyes because you’ll end up looking like a mess.
3. You apply eyeliner on your lower waterline
The solution: To prevent smudging use waterproof eye pencil.
4. You curl your lashes after applying eye pencil
The solution: Curl your lashes first and then apply eyeliner or eye pencil. This way you won’t make any mess on your eyelids.
5. There’s space between your line and your lashes
The solution: Start applying the liner the closest to your lash line. When you’re done, apply one more coat of liner to make sure there’s no space between your liner and lashes.
6. Your flick is not equal
The solution: Use your lower edge of your eye as a guideline to create the perfect, equal flicks. Put a dot on the outer corner of your eyes, where you want the line to end and then use that dot to draw the perfect line.
7. You pull your eyelid when applying eye pencil
The solution: Pulling your eyes can cause wrinkles. Instead of pulling your lid, try looking at the opposite direction. For example, if you apply pencil on the inner corner, look at your outer corner.
8. You don’t remove your makeup properly
The solution: Not removing your makeup properly is not good for your skin. Before applying makeup, clean your face with a cotton ball and oily makeup remover.
