1. Fresh juice
This is quite a surprise but freshly squeezed orange juice can cause infections. It’s better to drink pasteurized orange juice because it doesn’t contain any bacteria, but if you want to get the vitamins, eat a whole orange instead.
2. Sprouted grains
Sprouted grains contain salmonella and E.coli and they’re often treated with chemicals. Try eating sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and flax seeds instead.
3. Raw meat
Raw meat definitely contains salmonella and E coli. If you want to prevent those,eat medium-well or well-done meat.
4. Fresh milk
The way fresh milk is extracted isn’t really sterile, so there’s a possibility that the milk contains bacteria or viruses. Drink pasteurized or boiled milk instead.
5. Raw oysters
Raw oysters are proven to be a breeding ground of bacteria. Try baked oysters, they taste just as good and are much healthier.
6. Meat products
One American study shows that even the most expensive meat contains nitrates and nitrites that can cause cancer. For example, one sausage contains 400% more salt than the daily recommended intake. Substitute those products with jerky meat.
7. Packaged food made of two or more ingredients
These foods contain a lot of butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylhydroxytoluene (BHT) as preservatives. Unfortunately, these preservatives can cause hormonal disorder and cancer tumors. It’s better to cook fresh meals than to use these types of products.
8. Pre-washed and sliced veggies and fruits
Veggies and fruits that are sold washed and sliced have been touched by many hands and the more people touch the food, the chance of getting bacteria is higher. Buy whole fruits and veggies.
