80 children shaved their heads to show support to their classmate who has cancer. 9-year old Marlee Pack was diagnosed with cancer one year ago and she was absent from school during her chemotherapy.
Her best friend Cameron McLaughlin wanted to do something special for her, to put her in a good mood on her first day back to school so she decided to shave her head. When Cameron told Marlee her idea, Marlee put a huge smile on her face.
“We can be the bold best friends,” said Marlee.
Cameron idea spread around the school and 80 other kids volunteered to shave their heads in order to support young Marlee.
3 teachers, 2 principles and one mother joined the generous event called- “Be brave, be bold”.
“I didn’t think that many people will shave their heads, but it makes me feel better knowing that I won’t be the only bold person in school,”said Marlee.
During the generous event were raised 25.000 dollars and all the money was donated to St. Baldrick’s Foundation, an organization that supports children’s cancer research.
