Ivette Ivens is a photographer who wants to show people that mothers shouldn’t be shamed for breastfeeding their children in public. Her new project called “Breastfeeding Goddesses” contains ethereal photographs of mothers breastfeeding their children in public.
“My own experience inspired me to spread the word and encourage other mothers, as well as non-mothers to see breastfeeding the way it’s supposed to be seen. My message is simple: anywhere, anytime,” explains Ivette.
Ivette explains that she’s not striving for the realistic, since her photos are taken in quiet, outdoor spaces and the mothers are nearly nude or covered up with some fabric.
“My images might seem unrealistic, and I’m not aiming to show the raw side of it. My goal is to reveal how each mother feels while breastfeeding their child,” says Ivette.
