Jessica Anne Colletti is a 26-year old mother from Pennsylvania that sparked many controversies with her photo.
Jessica posted a photo of her breastfeeding her 16-months old son Lucian and her friend’s son Mateo, who is 18- months old on the blog “Mama Bean – Unconditional Attachment“.
I Breastfeed My Friend’s Son…What’s The Big Deal?
“They are milk siblings. My son is 16-months old and my friend’s son 18. I have been feeding them both for a year now. There’s a true love connection between us,” said Jessica Anne.
She received many reactions from mothers around the world. One mother wrote that breastfeeding is a special bond between a mother and her baby and another mother got really angry and wrote that this shouldn’t be allowed by the boy’s mother.
Some mothers even supported Jessica.
One mother wrote: “It’s like having twins”.
Jessica explained that she has been babysitting her friend’s son since he was 5-months old. Mateo’s mother gave Jessica permission to breastfeed her baby.
“Breastfeeding my friend’s son came naturally to me. I started babysitting him when he was 5 months old and the first time she dropped him off to me I asked permission to nurse him, since I was already nursing my 3 month old. She responded with an enthusiastic yes, because he was having issues with the formula his previous sitter had been giving him. My friend struggled with breastfeeding in the beginning and succeeded for 9 months. She was always very happy that her son had the nutrition and comfort he needed while she was working. Being able to breastfeed her little boy has created a special bond between us all, a bond I will always cherish.” said Jessica Anne.
