They both come from different world, but they have one thing in common- they’re both abandoned. Yvette Holzbach returns every day to the same spot where she took the photo of this odd pair- a street in Houston, Texas that’s known for the unwanted dogs.
That day Yvette tried to rescue as many dogs as she can and she saw an unforgettable scene on the sidewalk.
“When I saw a dog lying next to a torn, stuffed animal I thought it was cute. As soon as I took the photo, I was overwhelmed with emotions. This abandoned dog found consolation in an old, torn apart stuffed animal,” explains Ivet.
Unfortunately, Yvette couldn’t take the dog with her that day because there was no room left for him.
“We’re always faced with this dilemma- to decide which dog to take with us. This dog broke my heart.”
Yvette got back to the same spot the next day, but she couldn’t find the dog nor his toy friend. Yvette isn’t ready to give up and she’ll continue looking for the dog that stole her heart.
