Gabi Shull is a ballet dancer from Missouri who lost part of her leg when she was only 9 years old. She got a type of bone cancer called osteosarcoma, that affected her knee and that’s how this little girl end up with an amputated leg.
The cancer was discovered by accident, when Gabi had an x-ray after injuring herself during ice-skating. It looked like she’d never dance again, but surgeons made all the efforts to make this little ballerina happy again. They have managed to reattach her foot for the remainder of her leg at a 180 degree angle so that it could fit into a prosthetic in such a way as to allow her to continue dancing.
And that’s exactly what Gabi is doing! She takes pointe, hip-hop, tap, jazz, contemporary and lyrical dance classes, and she also dances competitively. She is also a national spokesperson for a children’s cancer awareness organization called The Truth 365.
This girl is absolutely amazing.
