Meet Teak, the senior cat who was abandoned at a local shelter. This terrified cat had a hard time finding a home until one couple rescued him.
The 10-year old cat was waiting on the death row, but luckily he was found by Karyn Poplin. She and her husband run Kitty Adventure Rescue League & Sanctuary, which is a cat sanctuary for special needs cats in Fort Worth, Texas. Karyn managed to take the cat out of the high kill shelter in order to give him a new loving home.
At the beginning, Teak was very scared of people.
“He was absolutely terrified of people. He would only eat when we left the room or if we were asleep,” explains Poplin. “He was scared and hid behind and under our bed for what seemed like forever.”
But 2 months after adoption, everything changed… Teak decided to let the fear go and to trust the people who rescued him.
“He’s not so much into getting attention, but he loves to take naps with us and other kitties,” says Karyn.
Today Teak is completely changed. The love he receives every day transformed him into a very tender and loving cat! Now he even sleeps in bed with his rescuers. He really enjoys the new life.
