We all know what happens the first Monday of May. It’s the biggest fashion night we’ve all been waiting – The Met Gala. This year the Costume Institute gala took all the quests to church with the theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination”. It was the most ambitious and largest exhibition yet, 60.000 square feet and 25 galleries.
The evening hosts included the fashion queen Anna Wintour, Rihanna, Donatella Versace and Amal Clooney.
Everyone who’s something in Hollywood walked the most famous red carpet. The fashion was incredible as always and the stars once again managed to express their originality and uniqueness. The queen of pop Madonna performed accompanied by dancers dressed as Benedictine monks.
“The Catholic imagination is rooted in and sustained by artistic practice, and fashion’s embrace of sacred images, objects, and customs continues the ever-evolving relationship between art and religion,” said the Met’s president and CEO, Daniel H. Weiss.
