Four orphaned baby squirrels found an unlikely mom at Crimea’s Bakhchisaray Miniature Park in Eastern Europe. The poor babies were found and brought to the animal organization. Luckily, the Park had its own new residents. The cat Pusha had just given birth to 4 kittens. When the baby squirrels were brought, the park employees decided to see if Pusha would accept them.
“On one beautiful day, visitors brought us these wonderful squirrels in a box. At that time, our cat had just given birth,” said Olga Fateeva, an employee of the park.
Meeting the new furry and large mommy wasn’t an immediate success. The squirrels were overwhelmed, so they needed some time to adjust to the new situation.
“We decided to introduce them to her and she accepted them,” says Olga.
To everyone’s delight, Pusha, her four kittens and the four squirrels became one, big, happy, mixed family. The new siblings love playing and snuggling with their mom. They all sleep together, follow each other, climb and fight over milk. Just like every other family, right?
