The fashion madness is taking over Europe. First stop was London where the runways were a perfect mixture of colorful patterns. While in London, designers experimented, in Milan designers played on the safe side. Take a look at the designs that impressed the fashion critics.
Emilio Pucci
A mystic, zodiac energy ruled Emilio Pucci’s runway show. Peter Dundas dressed his models in creations inspired by the zodiac signs. Although it hasn’t been announced, we’re almost certain that this is the last Dundas last collection for Pucci.
Giorgio Armani
The fashion veteran is an amazing business man and designs clothes that women would love to wear. Feminine outfits with pants, textures, art prints, luxury details, amazing accessories… Armani has really managed to capture the attention of everyone with his collection.
Versace
Donatella Versace brought the brand into the digital era. The designs from her “Greek” collection were in bright colors, Greek patterns and also contained emoticons and internet symbols such as “@” and “#”.
“In my mind and in my heart I know that I don’t want to look back anymore. It’s time to think about the future”, said the Italian designer.
Prada
“Cute… but violent”- that’s how Prada described the collection.
The pastel colors and dresses with amazing details showed the youthful spirit of the collection and the gloves and suits showed the feminine chic.
“I thought about what women love: colors, ribbons and decorations”, explained the designer.
Gucci
The fashion world was really looking forward for the Gucci show because it was the first show of Gucci’s new creative director Alessandro Michele.
“I’m trying to add something poetic in a powerful brand. I was inspired by different time periods,” says Michele.
The collection received mixed critics, especially because the fashion house is going to a whole other direction.
“I know Gucci’s archive better that I know my home. This is my language, I can’t do something else”, explains Michele.
Burberry
Christopher Bailey charmed the audience with his hippie charm in the Burberry collection. Deep turquoise colors, purple and ocher shades, fringes, ponchos and dresses with folk motives are brought back to life the 60s and 70s style.
Emilio Pucci
Matthew Williamson was also inspired by the zodiac signs.
“I was inspired by the zodiac signs and I especially focused on gems that look like zodiac signs”, said Williamson.
Luxurious ruby, amethyst and sapphire colors showed a romantic and poetic gentleness.
