Training for marathons can be quiet difficult. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication so imagine the shock when you get beaten by a dog! The 2 and a half year old Bloodhound decided to join the Elkmont Trackless Train Half Marathon in Canada, after he was let out to pee.
Ludivine, which is the name of the dog, went off track many times, even stopped to sniff a dead rabbit but still managed to finish 7th in the race. The dog received a medal and people were impressed. Even her owner April Hamlin was impressed.
“All I did was open the door, and she ran the race on her own accord. My first reaction was that I was embarrassed and worried that she had possibly gotten in the way of the other runners. She’s laid back and friendly, so I can’t believe she ran the whole half marathon because she’s actually really lazy,” explains April.
