And Kapha is the dosha of fire and earth. You’ll be amazed by how your dosha influences your personality and life! Discovering your dosha is the first step towards absolute wellness. Eat Satvik
In Ayurveda, there are three kinds of food: satvik, rajasic, and tamasic. Out of these, satvik is the best. It detoxifies the body, beautifies the skin, prevents premature ageing, and boosts energy. It also helps control stress. Satvik food is fresh, mildly spiced, organically grown, and light. Here are some satvik foods:
- Fresh, organic fruit and vegetables
- Whole grains
- Plant-based oils
- Nuts and seeds
- Milk products that come from healthy and happy cows
- Lentils
- Natural and unrefined sugars
- Honey
- Herbs and spices like coriander, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, and holy basil

Have Your Heaviest Meal At Lunch
Yup, you’ve probably learned that breakfast should be the heaviest meal of the day. But as per Ayurveda, it’s lunch. Why? The idea is quite simple – your digestion is linked to the element of fire. So when the Sun is shining at its brightest, this is when the fire element (Pitta) is at its highest. That’s why your body’s digestive power is strongest during lunch time. Try it out.

Spice Up Your Life!
Spices play a vital role in Ayurveda. Ever wondered why? Plants have amazing medicinal power. Plenty of researchers have also confirmed their healing abilities – ranging from treating acne to fighting cancer. Here are the 5 best spices for each dosha:
- Vata: Ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cumin, and coriander.
- Pitta: Fennel, coriander, mint, dill, and turmeric.
- Kapha: Ginger, cinnamon, chili, turmeric, and clove.
- Detoxify From Time To Time
Fasting is a great way to detoxify your body. It also strengthens your immune system and refreshes the mind. Vata types should generally have light food like fruit juices, lentils, and rice. On the other hand, Kapha and Pitta folks can avoid food altogether.
How to detoxify the mind? Two of the best ways are meditation and yoga. It’s no news that they release tensions, refresh your senses, and uplift the soul. Just 30 minutes a day can help you feel calm and revitalised.
- Follow These 2 Sleeping Rules
When you sleep well, you feel healthier, look younger, and live longer. For best sleep, Ayurveda recommends heading to bed early, generally around 10 pm. Because this time of the day is dominated by the Kapha dosha (earth and water). Kapha supports relaxation and sleep. So when you start sleeping early, you’ll find that you get deep rest and wake up with bundles of energy.
The second rule is to maintain a gap of at least 1.5 hours between your last meal and bedtime. This makes sure that your body has plenty of time to digest and then, prepare to start winding down. It makes an unbelievably huge difference to your sleeping quality!
We hope that you’ll give these tips a try and experience the benefits yourself!
