Carter Blanchard is an 8-year-old boy with a rare skin disorder known as vitiligo. He hated his appearance until he met his dog twin who has the same condition as his.
“The first thing he’d tell me when he got in the car is that he hated his face and hated the way he looked,” said his mother, Stephanie.
It was very hard for his mother to teach her son to appreciate his unique appearance. But, then something incredible happened. Carter met a special friend, the 13-year-old black Lab named Rowdy. The Internet had already made this dog famous because of his white patches, and that’s how Stephanie discovered him.
When the boy and the dog met, everything changed. After their meeting, Rowdy became more confident. He got an amazing friend, and has learned to embrace his uniqueness.
