I have always struggled with weight loss and trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I have tried so many diets and workout regimens that I don’t think you could mention one that I don’t already know. After several years of trying to look perfect and maintain the best diet, I eventually stumbled on a revelation.
It is the mentality of it all. The fact of the matter is, health and wellness changes aren’t all physical. They also have psychological and emotional effects.
I grew up in a “perfect” family. We always had to look our best no matter what situation we were in. From the outside, everyone thought that we were a unit, that things at home were perfectly fine. However, that was far from the truth. Beyond dressing well and having good manners, my parents were adamant about the fact that if we were overweight, people would look at us like we were useless and a burden on society. For that reason, our household was always filled with the healthiest food with no junk food in sight. Exercise was also non-negotiable at home. Despite all of this, I was always a chubby kid. While this was mainly because I had low metabolism, it didn’t help that I would regularly sneak foods that we weren’t allowed to eat at home.
Rather than try to understand why I kept gaining weight, my parents increased the level of psychological and emotional abuse to punish me into losing weight. I was called names and even told that I would never get a boyfriend if I was fat. Those comments obviously threw me into a downward spiral of dieting and exercise. I got obsessed with trying to lose weight and got disappointed when things did not go my way. Things took a dramatic turn when I left for college, where I finally had freedom for the first time ever. It is common for first year college students to gain a bit of weight due to an unhealthy diet and alcohol consumption. However, wound up gaining 23kg seemingly overnight. Needless to say, when I went home to visit for the holidays, the comments got even worse.
While I knew that I needed to make a drastic change, I just didn’t want to listen to any advice or comments from my parents. After all, these comments were usually too brutal for me to draw anything positive from them. It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis that I knew that I needed to make a change. Ketoacidosis is a metabolic state produced by unregulated ketone body production, which results in a metabolic acidosis. While every increase in blood ketones is considered ketosis, ketoacidosis is a distinct pathological condition that causes changes in blood pH and necessitates medical treatment. The unregulated generation of ketone bodies causes it. Several hormones, the most significant of which is insulin, usually regulate the formation of ketones. If the systems that govern ketone generation fail, ketone levels could skyrocket, resulting in severe physiological alterations such as metabolic acidosis.
After my diagnosis, I chose to cut out a lot of things that I ate or drank, assuming that that was the way to go. However, after a while, I realized that this new diet did not align with my lifestyle whatsoever. However, I did not know what else I could do. At this point, I had joined the workforce and was part of the traditional 9-5 grind. That also meant that, in order to maintain my work relationships, I would go out for a bite or to party with my colleagues. It wasn’t until I quit my job and started traveling that I realized my environment and relationships were actually what made me plateau when it came to my health and wellness efforts. Turns out, a toxic environment leads to a toxic body. We often overlook the reality that many elements of our environment have an impact on our body systems. In reality, we are inextricably linked to our surroundings. In one way or another, we absorb all of the products in our environment. In our modern age, we are also exposed to electromagnetic waves, which can alter our metabolic processes. Our environment also includes where we work and reside, as well as whether or not we are satisfied in these places. Additionally, our relationships have a direct influence on our emotions and happiness, which has an impact on what we eat, how we feel on a daily basis, whether we think and feel positive or negative, and so on. To effectively nourish ourselves, we also need to feel supported, loved, and cared for. We can be poisoned by toxic connections.
While I was backpacking, I was having the best time of my life, while also trying to maintain my health and wellness. After I tried all the local cuisines, I realized that one thing that I needed to keep in my backpack was coffee. This was especially the case when I was in a place that did not have a decent coffee shop. As a bit of a coffee snob, I needed a good quality coffee that would give me my caffeine fix. I ended up meeting someone who introduced me to a company that not only sold coffee products, but also used ingredients that had health benefits and fit my diet.
I was introduced to Brain and Brawn, a company that helps people enhance their overall health and well-being. What’s more, Brain and Brawn helps boosts overall health with products that are designed to fit into our fast-paced lives, with all our physical and mental demands. They have created specially formulated, premium natural health and nutrition products that are Keto/Paleo/Low-carb diet and vegan friendly. Furthermore, these products contain zero sugar, zero additives and zero fillers. They also boost immunity and energy levels, taste great and are easy to use. Ultimately, these products help people enhance their overall health and well-being, and look and feel younger.
The Brain and Brawn product range currently includes their Collagen Keto Coffee, Collagen Protein, Keto Creamer, Vegan Keto MCT Oil Powder, and Synergy Collagen Coffee with Organic Cordyceps and MCT C8 & C10.
Their Collagen Keto Coffee contains 100% Arabica coffee that has been hand-crafted and perfected through the careful selection of premium beans from exotic locations. Brain and Brawn chose Arabica beans due to their robust medical properties that help stimulate the desire to be active. As opposed to Robusta beans, which can adversely affect the nervous system and consciousness, create nervous jitters, and make people distracted and unfocused, Arabica beans positively affect the brain by stimulating creativity, positivity, and imagination. Their medicinal properties have a superior effect on consciousness, help energize the body, and enhance the ability to focus attention positively and creatively. Brain and Brawn’s collagen coffee is enriched with Bovine Collagen Peptides, which is great for skin, hair, and nail health. It also contains pure MCT oil powder to boost energy levels, acacia fiber and soluble prebiotics that can help with gut health.
Along with their Collagen Keto Coffee, they have introduced products like Vegan MCT oil Powder, Keto Creamer, and Optimal Body Collagen Protein powder. The medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil powder contains pure C8 and C10, which acts as a catalyst for ketone production in the liver; the Optimal Body Collagen Protein helps increase lean body mass and reduce fat mass. It also helps improve the health of joints and connective tissue in areas where people need it most, and the Keto Creamer provides a long-lasting energy boost and has a creamy mouth-feel.
To add to their collection, Brain and Brawn recently released their Synergy Collagen Coffee with Organic Cordyceps and MCT C8 & C10. Supplements and products containing Cordyceps mushroom have become increasingly popular due to its health benefits. Cordyceps are a genus of parasitic fungi that grows on the larvae of insects. Historically, Cordyceps has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries to treat fatigue, sickness, kidney disease, and low sex drive.
