Will, the cat disappeared during a snowstorm that hit Edward Island in Canada. Since his owner couldn’t find him for whole 19 months, she assumed the worst and made peace that she’ll never see his beloved cat.
Last month, Norma Moore-Dingwell had a surprise of a life time. She was returning home from work and found Will waiting for her in the backyard. She opened the door and it was like he never disappeared. He rushed straight to his bed.
“He remembered where his room was, so that was kinda nice,” explained Moore-Dingwell.
The family was thrilled to have Will back but the cat wasn’t in good shape when he returned home.
“He was in pretty rough shape when they found him,” says Dr. Dave Lister, a veterinarian at New Perth Animal Hospital.
Will was thirsty, hungry and underweight. He lost a piece of his ear from frostbite. He also suffered from another severe condition- acute cuddle deficiency. He wasted no time in remedying that.
“He was a very friendly cat that morning on the table. He just sat there and took all the attention we gave him,” said Lister.
No one knows where Will was for 19 months but we’re sure that he has learned that there’s no place like home.
