Cats do pick their owners. There are no scientific facts behind it, but there’s certainly something when the cat picks it’s favorite human, whether if it’s about the care that human showed to the cat, the voice, the smell, it’s something that calms the cat and makes her feel good when their favorite human is nearby. And no matter if we’re told that cats don’t care about humans, they actually do. In fact, we will bring to you a story about a cat that didn’t want to separate with her owner.
Nancy Cowne adopted her cat Cleo 10 years ago. The two were separated 8 years later when Nancy went to an elderly care home and Cleo moved at one neighbor.
As Nancy went into the nursing home, two weeks later the workers began to get visits from a very friendly cat that was sleeping outside in the front of the building, spending the days wandering around and looking in the windows of the home. The workers thought that it was a stray cat until Nancy noticed her. She immediately said “That looks like my cat, but my cat lost a part of the tail in the traffic accident.” The workers checked the cat and find out that there’s a chunk missing on the cat’s tail.
“I think it is just amazing that Cleo found Nancy. Obviously, Cleo knew Nancy was here, but nobody knew that it was her cat. Very strange. I don’t know how Cleo found her. It still baffles me. It’s really, really weird,” the caregiver Laura Costello told The Dodo.
Cleo has been invited and received into the nursing home and the cat didn’t left her side ever since.
How cute is that?
