Darius Sasnauskas is a Lithuanian outdoorsman who had the luck to witness the birth of 2 fawns in his own backyard near the Yellowstone National Park. One of the baby deer got injured and got left behind by his family.
“With so many predators around, she had no chance to survive on her own. I do not support keeping wild animals as pets, but this was a special situation,” says Darius.
Darius took care of the baby deer and helped her walk again. He wanted to set her free, but the bond between them was so strong that she kept coming back to him.
“She’s already used to me, and she follows me… but nobody can replace her real mom”, explains Darius
One evening the mom showed up and the deer joined her family again.
