Blush Brush

That big brush you use for applying blush and bronzer contains the most bacteria. Sebum, dead skin cells and bacteria get accumulated on the fibers of the brush and that is how it gets in our skin almost every day. The most dangerous bacteria found on the blush brush are Staphylococcus and Streptococcus that can cause a lot of unpleasant infections. Dirty brushes can cause acne, skin redness and fungal infections.

Eye Shadow Brush

Although we don’t use the eye shadow brushes that often, they are still very dangerous because of the direct contact with eyes. Our eyes are always wet and moist areas are the perfect breeding grounds for bacteria. Even the slightest contact can cause irritation and inflammation such as conjunctivitis.

Lipstick Brush

Lipstick brush can help you apply the lipstick perfectly. But, on the other hand, if the brush is not clean enough, it can cause damage to your health. Our lips are constantly wet which means they’re also the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. Using a dirty lipstick brush can cause herpes and streptococcus that causes throat inflammation.

Advice:

Clean your makeup brushes at least once a week and don’t share them with anyone. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, clean your brushes more often.
