As it goes, it’s all in the eyes. From a classical to a smoky look, a simple demure to dramatic look, or any other look you wish for, you can transform it using the eye makeup.
Eye makeup is used to make the eye more attractive and more noticeable. The eye shadow, eye liner, mascara are different types of eye makeup. Apart from that, eyebrows and how they are shaped make a significant contribution to how your entire eye makeup and more importantly facial makeup turns out. Today I am going to talk more about eye makeup, how to apply the eye makeup and how to choose the type that works for you.
Also apart from the different features that make up the eye makeup, there are other factors to consider such as the brand of the eye makeup cosmetics that you are using, for example, the Mac eyeshadows. Where you apply your makeup and how well lit it is, is an important feature too. Nowadays there are lighted makeup mirrors that ensure you have an easier time applying makeup especially the eye makeup which requires a lot of precision.
Eyeshadow
Eyeshadow is a crucial feature of the eye makeup. It is usually applied under the eyebrows and on the eyelids. It’s all about creativity here. Eyeshadow Cosmetics come in different colours, and the tricky part is usually combining the colours to give you a perfect look. However, a simple tip is to start by applying the shadow above the top lashes, at the outer corner of the eyes. Another trick that could do it is to start by applying the light shade then moving on to the darker shades. One of the leading eye shadow cosmetics is the Mac eyeshadows. They are preferred because they can be used dry or wet, have a variety of finishes and textures and blend well.
Mascara
Apart from the eyeshadow, another important feature of eye makeup is mascara. Mascara is used to specifically enhance the eye lashes. It can be used to straighten, lengthen, thicken and darken the eyelashes. Mascara should be applied last after applying all the other makeup. When applying mascara, take note of the following:
- When opening a mascara tube, carefully twist it instead of pulling it in and out to prevent damage to the wand.
- Always wipe off excess mascara from the wand before you start applying it to the eyelashes.
- Gently place the wand at the base of the eyelashes and pull it up to the end of the eyelashes. Repeat making sure you get every lash.
Eyeliner
Eyeliner is another important feature of the eye makeup. Eyeliner is applied around the contours of the eye. There are three types of eyeliners which include, the liquid eyeliner, the gel eyeliner and the pencil eyeliner. You can apply the eyeliner on either the upper or lower eyelid or both. Applying the eyeliner is quite easy as al you have to do is lift your lid or lower it for the lower eyelid and apply the eyeliner in short strokes starting from the inner corners to the outer corners. Apply a darker shade to where you want the emphasis to be. Also for eyeliner, it is about getting a smooth line at the end of it all.
Eyebrows
Lastly but not least, our last feature on the eye makeup is the eyebrows. Eyebrows are the soft hairs growing on top of our eyes. For the eyebrows, there are very many things that can be done to them. One can decide to fill, tweeze, dye, shape, trim and most importantly getting the perfect arch for your brow. First, mark out where you want your brows to start and end. Then comb them or trim the unruly hairs. Using powder or a pencil, fill your eyebrows starting from the head of the brow to the tail. Brush your eyebrows with a light brush to help them blend in with the pencil or powder, and you are good to go.
While no one wants to mess up while applying makeup, dim lighting can easily lead to this. It is, therefore, advisable to invest in a well-lighted makeup mirror. Lighted makeup mirror illuminates all the facial feature and most especially the eyes making it easy to apply makeup. So wake up, apply some eye makeup and get all dolled up.
