Us women live busy lives, and sometimes it’s hard to remember to take care of our skin along with all the other things we have to do. Skin care, however, doesn’t need to be hard, and it certainly doesn’t need to take up a lot of our time. In fact, there are several quick and easy things we can do to make your skin glow.
1. Cleanse everything
It has been drummed into us since adolescence that we should cleanse our skin twice a day. This helps to keep our pores clean and leads to a healthy, moisturized, glowing skin. But did you know that you should always clean your makeup brushes too? By soaking them in hot, soapy water and leaving them to dry, you can remove all the oil and gunk that builds up, leading to a healthier, better-looking skin.
2. Use anti-aging creams
It’s no secret that age is super evident in the wrinkles we wear on our faces. However, these days, there are a lot of anti-aging creams that you can buy over the counter at your local drugstore. Ingredients like hyaluronic acid can keep your skin smoother, however, you can get additional help using botox if necessary. In fact, salons like MyBotoxLA in Los Angeles are ideal for fixing up any unwanted creases quickly. If Botox isn’t for you, you can get botox-like creams that can fill in wrinkles, however, these creams tend to come at a high cost.
3. Use less makeup
You’ve heard the old adage “less is more” many times in your life. Have you ever stopped to wonder why? If you lather on the foundation or skin care treatment you are actually blocking your pores from being able to breathe, and this could lead to breakouts and rashes. If you scoop out too much cream, just use it on the back of your hand instead. Your face will thank you.
4. Use multitasking products
You can get the most out of your skin care products by finding multiple uses for them. This way, they can work harder to bring good things to your skin. For instance, use facial wipes to fix up makeup mishaps, or try a cotton tip to clean up a wonky eyeliner wing. Using a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 under your foundation makes an awesome primer. It’s tricks like this that will see you get the most out of your skincare products.
5. Read the label
If you don’t care about what goes into your skin, you might want to start. There are tons of products out there, and not all of them are good for you. Some of them aren’t even ethical! In fact, if you read the ingredient list on the label of your favorite products, they might surprise you. You should stay away from products that contain palm oil, and abrasive soaps that can dry your skin. You’ll find many skin care product brands that care about what they put into their products.
Skin care isn’t always at the top of our priority lists but it doesn’t have to be that way. With a little bit of effort each day, we can care for our skin and ensure that it says fresh, moisturized and wrinkle-free. All it takes is a couple of minutes in the morning and evenings to give your skin a new lease on life.
