The new technique is called strobing and the best part is you only need a highlighter to achieve this amazing look. Strobing is perfect for the summer because it will give your skin a gorgeous and dewy look and not to mention, it’s not that hard as contouring.
How Do You Strobe?
Strobing relies only on highlighting and natural light to define your face and get a youthful look.
Strobing is a simpler makeup technique and unlike contouring, which requires the use of multiple products, strobing is consists only of highlighting to define cheekbones, brows, nose and chin.
While contouring often leaves a matte finish, strobing brings a shimmery effect.
The Look
Strobing is all about the natural look. You need to start with a clean face. Thoroughly wash and dry your face. Apply a moisturizer and light foundation. You can also add some luminizer in your foundation to get a brighter look. Do not use powder since that will make you look cakey and we’re going for a natural, dewy look.
Highlighting
The most important thing in strobing is applying highlight on the right places. You need to apply highlighter on spots where the sun naturally hits your face. Apply some highlighter on the apples of your cheeks, the bridge of your nose and Cupid’s bow. You can also apply some highlighter on your brow bone, chin and center of your forehead.
