Asha, the Golden Retriever and her lady Kerry McKinnon live in Australia. We can surely say that they live quite an interesting life. One morning, Kerry saw something that even surprised her. Her husband was calling her to see something extraordinary and when she rushed, she saw her dog sitting in their yard with a baby koala on her back.
“She kept looking back at the koala, but she wasn’t trying to get him off her or anything. She was happy to let him snuggle into her,” explains Kerry.
“It was quite early in the morning, and my husband yelled out to me to come have a look at something. I didn’t know what he was talking about at first, but then I saw this tiny koala snuggled on top of Asha. I think the baby koala fell out of his mum’s pouch and didn’t know what to do. He would have died out there if left alone all night. The poor thing could have been taken by a fox or something, too,” says Kerry.
It will always remain a mystery how the cute koala ended up attached to Asha. The most likely explanation is that this little animal was separated from its mother since it was still young enough to be living with her.
Kerry took the koala to the vet for a check up. The koala was well and she was a signed to a local carer, to watch her over until she’s old enough to be released back into the wild.
