Lemons are packed with vitamin C and citric acid, which has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Lemon is perfect for your oral problems because it can cure bad breath, whiten your teeth and relieve a nasty toothache. Lemons can also help you strengthen your teeth and gums, calm any inflammation and bacteria in your mouth.
Here are 4 ways you can use lemon to fix your oral problems:
1. Whiten Teeth
Smoking, wine, coffee and tea can cause your teeth to turn yellow. Unfortunately, whitening treatments can be quite expensive and not everyone can afford it. Try to whiten your teeth the natural way by using lemon and ingredients you can find in your kitchen.
Mix 3 tbsp. lemon juice with 1 tbsp. salt. Mix until you get a paste. Brush your teeth gently with the paste and leave it on for a couple of minutes.
Do this natural treatment no more than 2 times a week.
2. Against Bad Breath
There’s nothing worse than bad breath. Lemon comes in handy here too. It will eliminate bad breath and kill the bacteria causing it. It can also prevent a dry mouth.
All you need is 3 tbsp. lemon juice. After every meal, gargle with the lemon juice and then rinse your mouth.
3. Relieve Toothache
We already said that lemon juice contains a lot of vitamin C which can help you get rid of infections and relieve toothaches.
Soak a cotton ball in lemon juice. Dab the ball on the affected area and rinse with water afterwards. Don’t leave the cotton ball more than 15 minutes.
4. Strengthen Your Gums
Lemon juice can help you strengthen your teeth and gums and also heal any bleeding happening in your mouth.
In a glass of water, add 2 tbsp. lemon juice. Rinse your mouth with this mixture after every meal.
Note: Don’t overuse lemons for teeth. The acidic content can damage your teeth and can have negative effects.
