Do you have corns, calluses and cracks on your feet? They mainly occur in people that spend most of the day on their feet or due to uncomfortable shoes. These things aren’t health hazardous, but can be really painful and unpleasant. Luckily, there are ways you can treat them at home with homemade remedies.
The most important thing to learn is to make a difference whether the problem can be treated at home or you’ll need a doctor. If the corn is bleeding, is located on a bone, looks scary and it’s painful when you touch it, you’ll definitely need to check it up with a doctor.
Here are some effective ways to treat calluses, corns and cracks at home:
1. Socks with glycerin
This method will help you get rid of dry calluses and make your feet extra soft.
How to use it: Mix 50ml glycerin with 10 drops of ammonia. Apply the mixture on your feet at night, before going to bed and put on thick socks. You’ll probably need 10 treatments, but it’s no big deal if you need more since the treatment is not dangerous at all.
2. Foot Bath
This is the simplest method that actually gives great results.
How to use it: Prepare a foot bath with warm water, 2-3 tbsp baking soda and 1 tbsp liquid soap. Put your feet in the bath and keep them there for 30 minutes. Use a pumice to remove the hardened layer of callus. Apply a soothing cream on your feet when you’re done.
3. Homemade paraffin
Paraffin is great for moisturizing and removing dead cells. If you want to try this at home, use ordinary wax instead of paraffin.
How to use it: In a big bowl, add the same amount of wax and mustard oil. Put it in the microwave until it’s melted. Dip your foot in the wax, wrap the feet with polyethylene film and a towel. After 20 minutes, take the wax off and use a nail file to polish the callus. Apply a smoothing cream afterwards.
4. Soak your feet in lemon juice
This procedure can be a bit uncomfortable, but it will soften your skin and remove cracks from your heels in just 5 days.
How to use it: Grate one lemon with the peel. Apply the grated lemon on your calluses and keep it on for 15 minutes.
