Store bought almond milk is full chemicals and additives and that’s the reason why you should make your own, homemade fresh almond milk. Almonds are rich in fibers, proteins, magnesium and vitamin E. They’re also loaded with antioxidants that fight against aging and cancer.
Here’s what you’ll need to prepare your homemade almond milk:
- 1 cup raw almonds (soaked overnight)
- 40 ounces of water
- 1 tbsp. pure vanilla extract
- 3 to 5 dates (soaked for 20 minutes)
Preparation:
Before you start preparing the almond milk, you need to prepare the almonds. Put the almonds in a big bowl, fill the bowl with water and cover it with a towel. Let the almond soak for 24 hours. Once the almonds are soaked, pour out the water and rinse them.
Put the soaked almonds in your blender and add 4 cups of water, the vanilla extract and the dates. Blend until all the ingredients are blended and mixed.
Once you’re done blending, it’s time to strain your almond milk to get rid of the almond pulp. You can use a sieve or a bag strainer.
Store your homemade almond milk in the fridge and use it within 1 week.
