Take out your tissues because we have a really touching story for you. This is a story about a man named Steve Greig. Months after his beloved dog passed away, he was still feeling desperate and hopeless. All of a sudden, he decided to turn his sadness and mourn into something amazing! He decided to give another dog a loving home.
Steve went to the shelter in Denver and asked for a senior dog that has the least chances of getting adopted. Unfortunately, shelters are packed with senior dogs since no one wants to adopt older dogs. Steve took the 12-year old Chihuahua that had 4 bad knees and a heart murmur. Steve didn’t stop there- his family of “unadoptable” dogs kept growing and growing! Steve has opened his loving home not to only one, but 10 senior dogs!
“A normal day for me is getting up at 5 a.m. in the morning and making breakfast for all of them,” Steve says.
Steve also takes care of the dogs vet appointments and grooming. Steve uses his lunch break to let the dogs out for a walk and feed them with a treat. He even has a pig named Bikini.
