In 2012, Sam and his brother Julio adopted an 8-week old Great Dane puppy called Duke. Duke and Julio quickly became best friends. In 2013, in Christmas Eve, Julio let Duke outside, as he normally does, but unfortunately, Duke disappeared. Julio was heartbroken. He spent months trying to locate his beloved friend, but there was no sign of Duke.
March 2016, David Walker, from Navasota, Texas, goes outside on his remote ranch. He sees a Great Dane looking right at him. The dog was eager and really friendly, so David decided to take him to the vet. When the vet checked the dog’s microchip, they learned that it was Duke. He was 350 miles away from his home. Duke lost a bit of weight but was healthy. That same day, David called Julio to tell him that he found his dog. Julio got into his car and drove to Navasota to be reunited with his friend. Their reunion was really heartwarming!
Life is back to normal and the best friends are thrilled to be together again!
