Billions of tons of garbage end up in the landfills and ocean every year. In order to reduce the waste and give a new life to old stuff, Amarildo Silva Filho from Brazil started a simple but really valuable hobby.
Amarildo is a cashier by day and a craftman by night. Two years ago, he was searching for a way to make some extra cash using people’s old trash. Amarildo started collecting old tires and transformed them into comfortable and eco-friendly animal beds. He found a way to make some extra cash while contributing to the well-being of the environment. In just 2 years, Amarildo has managed to make 6000 animal beds.
Amarildo picks up every tire he can find on the streets and landfills. He has even received many donations. He cuts the tires, cleans them, paints them with gorgeous colors and then adds a cozy mattress. He does all this by hand and the results is just amazing. He even loves to write the name of the animal who will receive the bed.
Amarildo stared selling his gorgeous creations on his Instagram. They became very popular and he managed to sell more than 500 beds. Unfortunately, his beds can be purchased only in Brazil, but we sure hope we can get one delivered in the near future.
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure and Amarildo is the living proof of it.
