For those of you who attend health and weight loss retreats, you most likely will have heard of Sophie Jones. She is very well know in the world of health and wellness and been in the mix putting on retreats including, detoxing, spa, massages, Yoga, fitness and a wide range of health methods over the years.
While her retreats usually are for both men and women, she is well know for really knowing how to help women lose weight and get that great looking body as well as have the physical strength and health to back it up.
While her new retreat is still in early days and in fact she is currently hiring the people she needs to help her with it; many have already signed on to the early bird specials so they can be sure to get a place when it does open which is said to be next year.
She has chosen Bali as the location and while she usually does retreats in Costa rica, Thailand and throughout Mexico, her choice of Bali this time is definitely a good location. She also has a special attachment to Bali having visited the island for years and often taking part in others retreats there. Which is why now she has decided to run her own in this spectacular retreat location.
If you decide to attend you should most likely start building up a base fitness level now so that you can make the most out of the program when you get to Bali.
For a start I recommend that if you haven’t already that you take up a Yoga class and try to attend at least a couple of times per week. You can find Yoga classes in your area really quite easily nowadays using online directories and tools like YogaFinder. Many offer an initial welcome class for free where you get to come along, join in and see if you enjoy the class. If you like it then you can sign up for the next class, or even get a discounted rate if you choose to buy a package. Or at least that’s usually how it works.
After you’ve been attending Yoga classes for a while you may want to contact Sophie at her retreat website to get an idea about when it will be starting and other pertinent information you will need.
By this time you should have been attending Yoga classes for several months and should have received at least some basic tips on diet from your Yoga instructor. Usually a type of Ayurveda diet is used alongside the classes because it helps to increase flexibility and also cleanse your body.
This Ayurveda diet will come in very useful when you attend the retreat in Bali because the diet used in Sophie’s retreats are often very similar and so you will be ahead of the game.
Next up it’s about what to bring and also of course booking your flights to Bali. You should try a few different flight engines like Skyscanner and Kayak to find the best deal on flights to the island. It’s definitely worth searching around and usually about 8 weeks in advance gets you the best rate.
When packing for the retreat consider bringing running shoes and light training gear for the workouts and Yoga. Generally the same clothes you’ve been using for your Yoga classes will be the correct training gear for the retreat, yet of course you can ask all these questions via the website when you book your retreat.
Then it’s just a case of stepping out of your comfort zone and trusting Sophie in her guidance at the retreat. She is highly reputable so you should have a fantastic time and be in far better health for it!
