Professional pedicures can be really expensive. Don’t throw away your money when you can do your pedicure at home. If you’re not quite sure what to do, follow these steps. We’ll help you do your pedicure as a professional and it won’t cost you a dime. And the best part is you’ll do it in the comfort of your own home.
Here’s how to do a perfect at-home pedicure:
Soak Your Feet
Fill your tub with warm water and soak your feet for 10 minutes. Don’t skip this step because it will soften your dead skin cells and will really relax you. You can add some spa product, Epson salt or a few drops of rosemary oil in the water if you want to.
Clip Those Nails
Once you’re done soaking it’s time to clip your nails. Your nails will be soften and easy to clip. Cut your nails evenly and equally.
Take Care of the Cuticles
Apply some cuticle oil into your nail beds and lightly massage it. Let the oil sit for a few minutes. Grab a wooden stick made of birch wood and push back your cuticles. Push the cuticles toward the nail base.
Exfoliate
Get your favorite scrub or you can use sugar or salt crystals. Start at your heel and work your way out to your toes and ankles with circular motions. Exfoliation will help you remove any dead skin cells and will make your feet soft. Wash your feet with warm water.
Get Rid of Any Bumps
Smooth down those nasty calluses using a pumice stone or a lava rock. Gently scrape your heels, the bottoms of your feet, and your toes.
Moisturize
Grab your favorite moisturizer and apply it all over your feet. Massage your feet using circular motions.
Time to Paint
Before applying any color, clean your nails with a non-acetone product to get rid of any moisturizer residue. Put your toe separator and grab your favorite polish. Apply 2 coats of polish. The first must be completely dried before applying the second. To prevent nail chipping, add on a finishing top coat. And you’re pedicure is done!
