Hippos come from Sub-Saharan Africa and are considered to be 55 million years old. Their name in Greek actually means “River Horse”. Hippos are the third biggest mammals and their closest relations are dolphins and whales. Hippos typically live for about 45 yeas and their diet consists mainly of grass. Hippos might be known as aggressive creatures, but they do look cute in pictures.
