Arlo, the Australian cattle dog was dragged by a truck and left with serious, deep skin wounds and missing muscle and tissue. The poor little 6-months old puppy was accidentally dragged by a truck in Texas for nearly a mile. Arlo’s owner couldn’t afford the vet costs so the puppy was taken to a shelter for treatment.
“None of his wounds were wrapped, he stayed like that for 24 hours. He was very guarded at the beginning. He was in immense pain. You could see that big pieces of skin and muscle were gone,” explains Anna Barbosa, the owner of K-911 rescue.
Arlo’s wounds were bandaged and they’re changed every 24 hours. Although his whole body is wrapped in bandages, the puppy is doing a lot better.
“He was wagging his tail a bit more yesterday. He hadn’t been eating. They did give him a hunger stimulant, and then he wanted some chicken. He’s been trying to walk but it’s hard with [the] bandages,” says Barbosa.
The road to Arlo’s recovery is long and he might need skin grafts. We hope and pray for the adorable little puppy!
