Does Sangria remind you of summer? Well, you’re wrong! With some modification you can prepare the perfect winter Sangria that will warm you up better than a cup of tea.
Instead of using oranges and lemon, use winter fruits: pears, apples, pomegranates…
Here’s what you need to prepare the perfect holiday Sangria:
- 2 bottles of red wine with fruit flavor
- 2 small apples, chopped to small cubes
- 2 pears, chopped to cubes
- 1 cleaned pomegranate
- A pinch of grated ginger
- 1 tbsp. cinnamon
- ½ cup brandy or vodka
Preparation:
If you use brandy or vodka, dip the apples in the alcohol and leave them there for a couple of hours.
Put the apple and pear cubes, pomegranate and grated ginger in a big bowl and add the cinnamon. Pour the wine into the bowl, mix and leave the Sangria for 2-3 hours before serving it.
Decorate the glass with a cinnamon stick and fruits. Add some lemon if you want to.
