Showering is a normal thing we do every day and it’s something we can’t mess up. Well, that might not be true because some things we do in the shower are doing more harm than good.
Skipping your feet
No, it’s not enough to let the soap slide down your body and wash your feet. This can only cause fungus and bacteria. Scrub your feet thoroughly anytime you get into the shower and don’t forget to dry them afterwards.
Don’t save on moisturizer
Showers can really make your skin dry and that’s why it’s really important to use a moisturizer after taking a shower. By applying moisturizer right after showering, you’ll keep the moisture in and you’ll avoid ending up with dry and patchy skin.
Taking an extra long shower
You might think that a longer shower will get you cleaner, but you’re wrong. Taking extra long showers will only make your skin drier. Don’t shower more than 10 minutes.
Taking a very hot shower
The hotter the water you use, the drier your skin will get. If you notice the bath getting steamy, that means that the water is too hot.
Leaving the loofah in the shower
Do not leave your loofah in the shower because that will cause bacteria to grow. Once you’re done with your loofah, clean it thoroughly, dry it and hang it in a dry place.
Scrubbing too hard
Scrubbing too hard won’t help you get cleaner, it will only make your skin dry and cause eczema. Exfoliate your skin twice a week.
Washing your hair every day
Stop washing your hair every day. It will only dry your hair and dull your hair color.
Using a dirty, old razor
If you can’t remember when was the last time you changed your razor that means it’s time to get a new one. Old razors will get filled with bacteria and can cause infection.
