During summer it is very important to protect your skin to avoid nasty sunburn and skin damage.

Even skin has own natural defenses such as melanin and freckles which appears on the skin as a natural sunblock, it can’t handle the UV radiation and when you are not careful you can get sun poisoning.

Sun poisoning is a severe case of sunburn from the sun’s UV rays, causing skin inflammation. You can get sunburn just after 15 minutes in the sun and symptoms can appear a few hours later. Also, extended UV exposure can cause skin cancer.

Symptoms of sunburn:
  • Red, Blistered, Painful Skin
  • Headache And Dizziness
  • Fever And Chills
  • Nausea
  • Dehydration
Here is what to do if you get sunburned and how to keep your skin protected:
  • Get out of the sun immediately and find some shade
  • Cool your skin with cool (not cold) water or cloth soaked in cold water.
  • Drink plenty of water to hydrate your body.
  • Apply Aloe Vera gel to the affected area.
  • Cover the burned area with loose, lightweight clothing.
  • Take painkillers for relief.

Keep in mind the prevention is the best protection. Always wear a sunblock with an SPF 30 or higher and limit your time in the sun.
