Problem 1 – Sciatica

“Years of sitting can increase the risk of sciatica. There is also a genetic component. Sciatica can sometimes occur during pregnancy, when your expanding uterus can push against the nerve,” explains MD. Problem 2 – Sacroiliac Joint Pain

The sacroiliac joint is located in your lower back where the pelvic bone and spine meet. It’s pretty normal to feel pain in this area during and post-pregnancy, but a huge number of women experience it because of muscle weakness and tightness. Don’t ignore pain because it might lead to arthritis.

You can treat sacroiliac joint pain with over-the-counter anti-inflammatories or a cortisone injection directly into the joint. The best prevention is to build a strong core by doing planks and hip rises.

Problem 3 – Pulled Hamstring

This type of pain starts in your pelvis and runs down the back of your thighs. An injury to a hamstring muscle can happen to anyone who’s physically active, but it mainly occurs in older people since muscles tighten as we age.

The best way to treat is to rest and apply a cold pack to the painful area a few times a day. What you can also do is bandage compression on your thigh. If your pain doesn’t go away in a few days, visit your doctor.
