There’s nothing more special than the bond between a mother and her daughters. Mothers are queens, teachers, role models, best friends and the connection between a mother and her girls is unbreakable. Dominique Davis, the amazing mother of two and fashion blogger has created incredible photo series called “This is three”, series showing the special bond between Dominiqie and her daughters.
This Is Three is an incredible project where Davis, her 11-year old Amelia and 4-year old Penny pose wearing matching and adorable outfits. The themes are different, it depends on the season, holidays and all photos are accompanied by cute stories written by Dominique herself.
“I’d left my job back in 2015 to stay at home with the children full-time. It was amazing, and it’s a decision I’ve never regretted. At times it did become quite lonely. Instagram gave me a mini escape in between changing nappies and doing the school run,” says Dominique.
The project was not planed at all and everything happened out of nowhere.
“The #allthatisthree photos came about by chance. One morning, I’d unintentionally dressed myself and Penny in matching striped tops, and then Amelia emerged from her bedroom wearing one too. We’d laughed about it and when I was struggling for an image idea later that day, we thought we’d share our joke with everyone else,” says Dominique.
The photo got more than 16000 likes on Instagram and encouraged Dominique to post more photos. The photo stories kept coming and the adorable trio became really popular.
“What I love about the #allthatisthree photos – aside from the fact that I get to document the girls and how they change each week – is that it captures the relationship between a mother and daughter, and two sisters. Anything I wear, or any hairstyle I do, Amelia wants to do the same. This flows down to Penny too; anything Amelia says, wears, does, Penny is quick to follow. We all imitate each other,” explains Dominique.
The trio marked their 1-year anniversary this June. Davis wonders if they can manage to keep their project going for another year.
