Today April 4th is World Stray Animals Day, a day when we should raise our voice for those who can’t. Let’s all show some care, love and compassion for all stray animals all over the world, dogs, cats, horses….
Homeless animals has outnumbered homeless people 5 to 1, and there is more than 600.000.000 stray animals worldwide. This number is growing faster every day. Overpopulation leads to huge numbers of killed animals every year. Every year, approximately 7.6 million enter animal shelters nationwide and many strays are lost pets that were not kept properly indoors or provided with identification.
This special day was initiated by a Dutch marketing guru in 2010. One hundred Dutch stray animal organizations gathered for the first time ever at the first Dutch National Stray Animals Conference. Since then many people have become more aware of this problem with stray animals worldwide.
4/4 is easy to remember, also it is very important to celebrate this day, to make calls to actions, create ideas to help strays as much as we can.
Here is what you can do:
Adopt a stray dog or cat, ask your local animal shelter how you can help, or at least share the cause of 4/4 Stray Animals Day with everybody you know.
LET’S NOT FORGET THE STRAYS IN THIS WORLD
