Louisiana is experiencing historic flooding. Three people are confirmed dead, but at least 7,000 people have been rescued from the rising waters.
However, only one rescue attracted worldwide attention. A brave man saved a woman and her dog from drowning from a car that was quickly sinking into the muddy flood water. He managed to break the glass on the car and pulled the woman out, when she started yelling that there is a dog down there, begging to save him too. The water has swallowed the car, but that doesn’t stop this man to go under the water and find the woman’s dog. Luckily, the tiny dog finds its way from the muddy waters into the man’s arms.
This regular man who saved the woman and her dog got many positive comments and praises, while the woman was the target of criticism because she plead the savior to save the life of her dog. Now she has been called daring, arrogant and irresponsible, and I ask you whether it is the duty of rescuers to save all lives, regardless of whether it is human or other living beings?
