One rainy day in Auckland, New Zealand, Kathryn Van Beek spotted a very tiny creature on a rain-soaked pathway. She thought it was a rat, but after a few minutes she realized it was a kitten who was all wet and cold. Kathryn didn’t go on, she did something truly incredible.
She knew that this extremely small kitten with his umbilical cord still attached wouldn’t survive up there alone in the rain, so she decided to take him home.
She named him Bruce, after Bruce Wayne. His weight was only 100 grams, and his eyes were still closed. Bruce’s new mom worked hard to keep him alive and healthy, and she succeeded. After a month, he was able to eat on his own.
After 9 weeks, he became into a great kitten with lovely personality. Then, his weight got up to 2 pounds. Bruce is now happy thanks to Kathryn who didn’t overlook this wet tiny kitten.
